Alexandra Smith, a local Kansas City artist, is originally from Solon, Iowa where she completed her early years of training at the University of Iowa Youth Ballet. Upon moving to Kansas City in 2015, she began her degree in Dance Performance with the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance. While attending school, she performed extensively with the university; worked with several guest artists including Cleo Parker Robinson, Kevin Iega Jeff, and Nilas Martin of the Balanchine Trust; and attended summer programs with Kansas City Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Contemporary Ballet, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, and Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Theatre. In 2019, Alexandra graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Minor in Entrepreneurship. Upon graduation, Alexandra joined Störling Dance Theatre of Kansas City and is now entering her fourth season as a full company member for the 2022-2023 season. With the company thus far, she has had the privilege of working with Catherine Meredith (2019), Carolyn Dorfman (2021), and Mona Enna, Störling's founder and artistic director. Additionally, Alexandra teaches dance throughout the Kansas City area, and is certified in Progressing Ballet Technique. Sharing the joy and discipline of dance  to the next generation of young artists is an aspect of her career by which she is immensely fulfilled.
